Senior Architect
We are looking for a senior mechanical or mechatronic architect to lead and supervise our high-tech projects. You will develop machines for the high-tech industry from concept to completion. You will lead and coach a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. You will be responsible and oversee the technical part of our projects for the development of innovative products and machines. You will safeguard the design process and specifications. You must be able to develop and conceptualize mechanical and mechatronic systems based on a set of requirements and perform structural and thermal FEA.
- You are the technical lead of the project and responsible for the design and technical decisions
- You work in close contact with the project leader
- You have the daily lead of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers
- You discuss the technical progress and specifications with the customer

Education & experience:
Master or Ph.D. with at least 5-10 years of experience in challenging mechanical design assignments, preferably in the field of mechatronics and/or precision engineering.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Experience in precision engineering and mechatronics is a strong pro
- Excellent skills in problem-solving
- Ability to understand and create mechanical system architectures
- Extensive knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, vibrations, heat transfer, material properties, structures, in-vacuum systems, cost, reliability, and manufacturability
- Ability to discover flaws in CAD models and detail drawings of assemblies and parts. Ability to propose fixes and better alternatives
- Effective interfacing with a multidisciplinary team including senior leadership
- Strong questioning, listening, explanation, reasoning and negotiation skills
- Quality focus, customer awareness, and process orientation
- Creative, initiative and vision to continuously improve
- Fluent in Dutch and excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
